Refugee claimants have the right to have a lawyer or other legal counsel represent them at their refugee hearing. This fact sheet stresses the need to get legal help as soon as possible, preferably before filling out any forms. There are sections on legal aid certificates, the Refugee Law Office, and community legal clinics. There is also information about using non-lawyers or immigration consultants.
