The booklet explains the kind of information a judge needs in order to apply Gladue, when to give the judge this information, and where to go for help.

People who apply for Canadian citizenship have to meet language requirements and, in most cases, pass a test that demonstrates knowledge of Canada. Some people may not be able to meet these requirements for reasons such as disability, post-traumatic stress disorder, or low literacy. This resource explains how ESL teachers can help these people, for example, by telling them about their rights and referring them for legal help.
