CLEO recently completed a research project that looked at how it could improve access to legal information by Aboriginal communities. More details and an outline of recommendations can be found in the Executive Summary of the report.

Youth Justice Inventory (PDF 383 KB)

In 2006, CLEO researched and compiled an inventory of public legal education materials relating to youth justice. The annotated inventory includes a listing of materials produced by youth-serving agencies, government-related offices, and other community agencies from across Ontario.

Linguistic Access Report - Executive Summary (PDF 108 KB)
August 2005

In 2005, CLEO completed research on how we can help meet the public legal education needs of low-income communities in Ontario who speak neither French nor English. Some of the recommendations from this report led to CLEO's Six Languages Text and Audio Project. The name of this project has been changed to "Your Rights. Your Language." More details and an outline of the recommendations can be found in the Executive Summary of the report.

In July 2005, CLEO staff lawyer Caroline Lindberg presented a paper at the Canada-China Legal Aid and Community Legal Services Project (CCLAS) Legal Aid Conferences in Beijing, China. Posted here is her introductory paper on public legal education, “Public legal education: helping people understand and exercise their legal rights”.
