Working while you are on social assistance
Are there benefits I can get if I go off OW or ODSP because of work?
If you go off ODSP because of your income from working, you might be able to get an Employment Transition Benefit of $500.
And whether you go off OW or ODSP, you might still be able to get "extended health benefits" if you have a lot of medical expenses.
Extended health benefits may cover costs like:
- prescription drugs
- visits to a dentist or dental hygienist
- eye examinations and eye glasses
