New publications on property division

CLEO now has 2 new publications on property division:

• Property division: Common-law couples
• Property division: Married couples

The publications explain how property and debts are divided based on a person’s marital status. They also have information on:

• a person’s right to stay in the family home after they separate or divorce
• written agreements to divide property
• what happens to property when a partner or spouse dies

These new publications replace CLEO’s older publication on property division.
