Freedom from neglect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Every resident has the right to freedom from neglect by the licensee and staff.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #db7e06;\"><strong>In other words:<\/strong><\/span> <strong>The owner and staff at the home are not allowed to neglect you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Neglect happens when the home does not give you the treatment, care, services, or help that you need. For example, you have the right to get medication that is prescribed for you.<\/p>\n<p>Neglect also happens when someone puts your health, safety, or well-being at risk by not doing something.<\/p>\n<p>If you need help getting to the toilet, staff should take you to the washroom in a reasonable amount of time.
