{"id":46417,"date":"2021-03-25T18:53:08","date_gmt":"2021-03-25T22:53:08","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2026-05-06T09:44:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-06T13:44:12","slug":"child-support-and-amount-money-you-get-ow-or-odsp","status":"publish","type":"publications-page","link":"https:\/\/www.cleo.on.ca\/en\/publications-page\/child-support-and-amount-money-you-get-ow-or-odsp","title":{"rendered":"Child support and the amount of money you get from OW or ODSP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Child support payments do not affect the amount of money you get from Ontario Works (OW) or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP).<\/p>\n<p>So, if you get child support, you get to keep that money plus your money from OW or ODSP.<\/p>\n<p>But this rule does <strong>not<\/strong> apply to child support that should have been paid before:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>January 1, 2017, if you get ODSP<\/li>\n<li>February 1, 2017, if you get OW<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The time period that matters is when the child support should have been paid.
