This handbook is a guide to the legal system in Ontario for women and people who are gender diverse whose partners abuse them.<\/p>\n

The language used here reflects the reality that women and people who are gender diverse are more likely to experience abuse in intimate partner relationships. However, this information may be helpful for anyone who has experienced intimate partner violence.<\/p>\n

This handbook does not give legal advice. Each situation is unique and may need different solutions. Laws and legal processes also change.
